The main attraction of this festival (the oldest one in the world) is none other than the Golden Lion, Silver Lion for the Jury's pick for Director and Film, and the secondary ones (yet important as well) are the Volpi Cups for Best Actor/Actress .

The link above will tell you that Lee Ang has made big of his creations yet again by winning the Golden Lion for Love, Caution. A revolutionary movie, supposedly made big due to the sex scenes portrayed by the actors. Come on, let's just get over the asian perspective of these news already.

Honorary Award went to Tim Burton, who brought you many great movies like Big Fish, Edward Scissorshands and most recently, Charlie and the (wickedly yummy) Chocolate Factory. It is yet again a proving of self-worth to the world.
The movie that was supposed to open in Singapore but axed and delayed unpredictably is The Assasination of Jesse James, starring Brad Pitt, which according to him, its he's toughest role ever. There's a nude scene, is that why Singaporeans can't watch?

Another great movie to look out for, that will hopefully hit our shores is "I'm Not There" where 6 different actors depict different stages of the life of Bob Dylan, with Cate Blanchett picking the Cup for her acting muscle. She's playing a man!?

Doesn't it remind you of Babel somehow?

Venice has high tastes for picking out the great movies, and since Hollywood is already in the last quarter towards the Academy Awards, this should be a great pre-cursor to what's hot in the Oscars seasons. People, look out!

----start of questions----> > 1) What made you decide to start Blog Club as your new weekend> program format?>

It is a continuation of my previous radio show on saturday, where i pprepare materials and post it as a blog, and use them as discussions during my shift. I call it blog club now, cos i wanna include listeners into the materials i can see in my show and blog as well.

2) How is it carried out? [because last Sunday, you just began to> link to many of the listeners' blogs. What's your next steps?]>

It is carried out by linking the listeners blogs like you mentioned, anf from there, i hope that i can use materials that i read in the listener's blogs in my show as materials that i can read out and present to the general audience.
next step is to continue linking up the listeners in a network, and present something that i have read on our listener's blog, be it an observation, feedback or comment. this should hopefully happen next shift.

> 3) How do you intend to use Blog Club as a medium to interact with> the listeners? [e.g. you to the listeners, listeners to you, listeners> to other listeners, etc]>

the answer to this question should be partially answered by the above one. the other part would be the broadcast of the show itself i think. that should include all the aspects that you mentioned above. >

4) On the whole, Do you feel that new media like Youtube, podcasts> and blogs have helped you in your program hosting and other aspects of> your life? How have they helped (or not)?>

yes, definitely. the abundance of resources have greatly helped me, and it is the foundation of my idea of my radio show as well. >

5) As a semi-media person (since you are part-time DJ), do you think> that new media can actually threaten the position of traditional radio,> e.g. in your field podcasts over conventional radio?>

i dun not agree. the new media should presently be a supplement for the existing media channels, and to overtake this, would take a long while and prolonged evolution. assuming new media is based in internet resources, Let's not forget the number of people who do not have a computer accessible to them readily and the people who are not even technology-savvy enough to get online.
